Born in Florianópolis, Brazil, she is currently based in Los Angeles. She holds a BA in Communication Design from ESPM-SP and a postgraduate degree in “Graphic Design and the Cities” from Escola da Cidade. Her multidisciplinary practice spans visual identities, publishing, and contemporary art. She is the founder of the independent editorial platform Satélite Books, and co-founder of the art and design publication Periódico-Periódico.Her work has been internationally recognized with awards including Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, Latin American Design Awards, and the Brasil Design Award for projects at the intersection of visual culture, activism, and editorial craft. Her commercial design work includes collaborations with brands such as Nike, MoMA, Avon, Nubank, Natura, and Havaianas, and she has partnered with agencies and studios like AlmapBBDO, AKQA, Wieden+Kennedy, Tátil, Wunderman Thompson and Polar Ltda. Before Africans became enslaved, they were members of societies—people with expertise in many fields, contributing to human history with important inventions that range from the telescope to setting the basis of cubism in art. Those stories should be in school books, but too often are not. Zumbi dos Palmares College - the only internationally known college in Brazil targeted to black people - decided to fix this. 15,000 hours of work by African-Brazilian researchers, historians, journalists, teachers, and people involved in Black culture begat a 200-page book that helps reshape history for readers: the Black Box. To reinforce the project, a map of Quilombo dos Palmares was used as icon, this huge symbol of resistance to black people in Brazil, to form all images in the book through generative design. A code was created, that transforms the map into tiny particles, literally inserting the DNA of Black Brazil’s history into every illustration. Plus, the book includes black boxes in translucent tracing paper, revealing important historical information when the pages are turned over. Additionally, each chapter of the book became a subject of the classes teached at Zumbi dos Palmares College and was integrated into the syllabus of different college grades. the end of the world. The apocalypse. The colonization of machines. The fall of the sky. Narratives of the future rarely consider us as active participants in the creation of reality. Everything seems to be given. What appears to have occurred, as a consequence, is a generalized strike.The future is not a distant and autonomous place, but a collective creation, present and in movement. We are creative beings by nature. We create when we express ourselves. When we choose. We created cities, museums and artificial intelligence. We create problems and vaccines. Ties. Opinions. Children. Our creations - whether in the areas of arts, science, technology or education - will be as ethical and liberating as we demand. Ecossistemas Criativos is a conversation program, curated and presented by the great Marcello Dantas on the Arte1 channel on a partnership with Sesi, which proposes a broad look at the creations of the future with is a series of conversations, which aims to propose a systemic and broad look at the creation of disruptive perceptions and solutions to experience the future. The series of conversations, first shown on Brazilian Television Canal Arte1 and later transformed into a podcast, features 8 26-minute episodes. In each episode, Marcello Dantas invites an expert to talk about topics related to innovation and creativity - amazing and important Brazilian figures: Kaká Verá, Giselle Beigelman, Denise Stoklos, Carlos Nader, Bruno Torturra, Panmela Castro, Andreza Delgado.&nbsp; At the beginning of each program, to boost the conversation, Marcello brings a poetic reflection on the episode's central theme. Thus, the tone of the chat will be established, also serving as a guide for the topics. is a special packaging created for the Cheetos Brazilian line. The main idea was to use the snack's shape and transform it into a graphic element, using it's pattern over a silver background to create an visual effect on the supermarket shelves. The flavor distinction is made through the color code, already established and recognizable by the consumers. We also reorganized the information's hierarchy on the packaging and redesigned the way they are displayed. Massapê is a platform and art space managed mainly by Mano Penalva through production of art. The exhibition Partículas started from the main idea of a solid core that guides movement in space, through a game of objects the artists seeked to approach textures and plasticities in the works - proposing points of tension - where the body of the the spectator was guided by the space, where the possibilities of materials and surfaces are displayed.I created the graphic visuals and the expographic project, togheter with Simon Fernandes coding, and also, we were the artists who were exposing the artworks. With more than eight thousand employees, a recent IPO, and a fast growth that achieved more than 80 million clients in Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia, Nu has reached another level of maturity of its business. With one important note: its consistent growth as a company brings along new challenges on how Nubank will maintain the consistency of its brand as well. Elected the strongest brand in Brazil in 2022 by WPP, Nubank has always stood for customer-centricity and for fighting complexity to empower people. Now, on a bigger scale— and on its 10th anniversary —, Nubank’s global branding team developed a tool that expands Nu’s core roots and purpose to a wider context, helping Nubank to maintain consistency and quality in its output across all platforms, countries, or services.Imagine a team with hundreds of marketing and creative professionals, besides external partners and suppliers, working on the strongest brand in Brazil which continuously launches new campaigns and products for its current and new segments. Orchestrating all brand strategy, guidelines, and assets in a simple-to-find, user-friendly, and always-updated platform, to guarantee that no content is ever lost, isn’t exactly—let’s say—trivial. For this new step of the brand’s maturity, developing a new way to organize all of Nubank’s brand-related content was inevitable. The real question, in this case, was how it was going to be developed. We translated our Nu Brand System into a new and interactive BrandBook Tool—a public and online platform that can be accessed by everyone—to stimulate curiosity and adherence in the use of brand guidelines.&nbsp; It also helps to deliver a great experience by showcasing our design foundations through interactive content and tools, where all the brand assets can be stored, delivered, and downloaded.&nbsp;Being simple is always the end, and the journey to get there is exciting. There was a long cycle of explorations from designing the homepage to understanding how to dispose of the content and the search engine, aiming for the most accessible and friendly way of navigation. Below you can find the main rationale behind the decisions made for the development of the tool.After deciding to create an online tool to centralize and share all of the content, the next thing decided was its visual format. The modular shapes were used to create a more flexible structure to keep expanding for future contents: it facilitates new uploads and updates by allowing Nubank to easily modify or include one whole new module without interfering in the previous ones. With the brand expansion, that felt crucial.&nbsp; Each block is dedicated to one different element of our Brand System. And all thumbnails become animated when the user hover the cursor over them, revealing a sneak peek of the content they’re about to see.When I joined the project, basic UI, visual design layout, and navigation structure (using cards with no scroll down) were already set up. Some content pages were already designed: like the logo, color, and type guidelines.My main challenges and outcomes were to enhance, upgrade, edit and design the brand guideline content and assets inside the new platform. Adapt and design the content for the videos, and direct the motion design interaction and flow of it. And accompany the developers team to maintain and guarantee a smooth user experience for both front and back-end functionalities. Chilli Beans was founded in 1997 by businessman Caito Maia and today it maintains approximately 700 franchises throughout Brazil, in addition to stores in other countries such as the United States, Peru, Portugal, Mexico, Thailand, Colombia, Chile, and the United Arab Emirates. The work was done closely with the Chilli Beans team to create a bold and new visual identity that has impact and relevance with powerful photography, as the brand was known for its ads in the early 2000s. I carefully redesigned the brand’s core equities into the most confident versions of it, the logo, and the new guideline for it, bringing a bolder new vision. The result is a sharper and more deliberate visual language that leverages existing recognition while allowing the brand to scale in new ways. Papel como expressão gráfica e visual Papel was all made and created by me, for my graduation in Communication Design final project, at Escola Superior (ESPM-SP), with the guidance of the great Marcos Mello - designer and letterpress printer, owner of Oficina Tipográfica São Paulo - OTSP was established in 2004 and operates as both a digital and an analogue letterpress design space; It allows the worlds of contemporary graphic design and printmaking to become connected through its location within the Escola SENAI Theobaldo De Nigris, a leading graphic arts school in Latin America specialising in printing technology. Through the process of researching about paper for a hole year, and experiencing it as an object, I produced different experiments with the intention of greatly expand the limits of the paper. In the main book, every moment of this journey is shown, from the first stages of experimentation, documentation of the hole process, references, and the results of the experimentations, such as sculptures and things that I thought.&nbsp; In the second book, I establish again this relation of transformation of the paper, with pictures of the sculptures that I made with paper, comparing them to real images that are in our daily lifes and through parallels with forms of nature, giving a new sense of resignification by images.Printed on a short run, this was an experimental design project with paper as a material, and also a research about the history of paper and the entire context that permeates it today. The paper, which is a material made up of fibrous elements of plant origin, generally distributed in the form of sheets or rolls, comes from nature, from a transformation of materials. This projetct consists on two books that works togeter. On the graphic project, there was a special care to bring out the paper’s essence, through the use of paper on it’s purest form, with simple and rustic finishes. The paper is pollen bold. All the editorial project was made with Minion Pro, an Adobe Original typeface designed by Robert Slimbach. This font combines the aesthetic and functional qualities that make text type highly readable with the versatility of OpenType digital technology, yielding unprecedented flexibility and typographic control, whether for lengthy text or display settings.
